A great source of despair draws Nightmare to an abandoned AU. There he finds an unfinished Sans with no name, no companions, no purpose, no world, and a soul. Nightmare gives him the option to get out of his abandoned, empty world. He accepts the offer but refuses to destroy anything or hurt people. Instead he finds another purpose. In return the Bad Sanses give him a home, companions, a life, and a name. They call him Ink.
Or: Before he can destroy his soul and enter the Doodle Sphere, Ink is recruited by Nightmare. He accepts his role as best he can, even if he sometimes feels like he is meant for something more.

Ink stared at him as he tried to comprehend the words. Perseverance? Although it made sense, it only seemed to contribute to his rising alarm. How could he possibly thrive if perseverance was the most reliable aspect someone could have; an aspect he woefully lacked?
(My very own AU idea. I suck at titles. And creativity. Took me forever to finally come up with a title and I'm still unsure about it. I hope you enjoy the story anyway, despite all the problems. The man with black hair, with a hot-headed personality and fire in his eyes. The knight with the dark helmet, silent as the vacuum of space and just as dark in color scheme. And the angel with pink hair, with feathery wings and a gentle yet sleepy gaze.
They're the only thing he remembers from before the general found him. They're the only thing he has of his past life, before being taken in by Jing Yuan.
A lot of time has passed since then, and he still sees them quite frequently, he just hopes the General will stop trying to take him to the Alchemy Commission anytime he sees Yanqing talking to someone who can't be seen.
