    Summary

The war's been going on for a while now. Every day a new battle to be won, or lost. Tommy knew that the war couldn't go on forever. Eventually everything would have to come to an end, the conflict wrapped up tight with a neat little bow. With Wilbur leading the fight and so many others by his side, Tommy knows that they are bound to win... right? Of course they would win! They had to, because if they didn't, L'Manburg would fall. He would lose his home, his family, his friends, everything. He was liable to lose his life, too.

Nobody told Tommy winning a war would be easy, but no one told him it'd be this damn hard either. He was trying to be brave and stand strong, but he was just a kid! He knew nothing of war! His greatest concern before this point was squabbling with Tubbo over who was the clingiest and collecting new building materials for his house. Tommy didn't ask to be a hero. Heck, he didn't even ask to be in this fight in the first place! But when your brother sets out to build a country, you had to stand by his side, through thick and thin. And if the thin happened to include a war for independence, so be it. He trusted Wilbur to guide them to victory once and for all. Tommy wasn't scared. Really.

    Summary

Tommy had lost everything. Logstedshire was gone, blown up right before his eyes. Just like his home. Just like L'Manburg. His stuff was gone, either blown up or burnt by the fire that was left behind. His friends were gone, if he had ever had friends to begin with. Friends visit you when you're alone. Friends comfort you when you're sad. No one ever did. His only way home was gone. Dream had made sure of that, with that smug smile that he always wore when he knew he'd won. The portal was broken. There was no means of fixing it. There was no going back.

Dream had left him there to die. He had beaten him near to death and left him in the ruins of Logstedshire. Dream fully expected him to die. If he didn't die before Dream came back, he would kill him. Tommy knew that. He wasn't stupid. He wasn't naive. He knew that Dream saw him as a toy, a plaything meant to amuse him. Tommy knew what happened to toys once they lost their fun. He knew the fate of playthings when they had no more use. He knew, but he wasn't going to give Dream the fucking satisfaction. He would rather kill himself than let Dream take his last life. So he rushed head first into the middle of a blizzard. And never looked back.
