“I can do better,” he lets slip, thoughtlessly. As soon as the words are out, he cringes internally. “Or, I mean, girls, yeah, they’re cool. I like girls. Uh, I mean, you can like girls too. S’all cool.”
Sadly, the word vomit isn’t enough to disguise his blunder.
“You can do better," Jimin repeats. "Whaddya mean, Taehyungie?”
“Just that - I dunno, better than those guys. I could do better.”
She stills, looking directly into his eyes. Searching for something. Sincerity? Taehyung has never been more honest in his life. “Do me better?” she purrs. She doesn’t get it, Taehyung realises. Doesn’t understand how much he means it. He musters up the shattered remains of his confidence. It's now or never. And if it goes wrong, he can always blame it on the alcohol or laugh it off.

It becomes apparent that Mr. Park will, in fact, not sit down when he starts pacing the room in the most awkward manner. He faces Taehyung, opens his mouth as if to say something, then seems to think better of it and walks to the fireplace. Finally, he speaks. In retrospect, Taehyung wishes he hadn’t.
“In vain I have struggled,” he starts, voice uncharacteristically shaky and looking anywhere but at his audience. “It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”

Or, the Pride & Prejudice fic I wanted to read, starring Kim Taehyung as Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Park Jimin as Mr. Darcy and featuring no less than three marriage proposals, copious amounts of pining and more plot twists than any kdrama. There is never a dull moment in the Kim household.

Jimin Park is an ordinary Defence Against the Dark Arts professor with a rebellious slytherin thirteen-year-old on his hands who just sent another boy to the infirmary by gifting him a poisonous plant, and Taehyung Kim is a recluse metamorphmagus with a rare gift for Herbology whose guilty nephew has just appeared in his living room chimney with his teacher.
The two men’s meeting proves to lead to more than either of them bargained for, when what was supposed to be a quick visit turns into a half-week stay (because Taehyung always forgets to stock up on Floo powder) filled with copious amounts of inner turmoil (because Jimin can’t help but fall for him, despite the fact that Taehyung is his dead ex-girlfriend’s twin brother).
