Summary
When Pete McVries gets one cosmic do-over, a choice to redo the Walk and save Ray, he doesn’t hesitate. The muscle pain, torn-up feet, sleep deprivation, hallucinations, nausea, and finally a bullet — he’ll go through it all again to get five more days with Ray, and to make sure it’s Ray who makes it out alive.
When it turns out that this is not just a one-time do-over but a time loop, he doesn’t quite know what comes next.

Madi has always wondered if Silver understands what is between him and Flint as well as she. To her, it has always been obvious, from the way the two of them had fit together, had worried about each other, had acted as one. She had tried to bring it up with Silver back when they were together. But Silver had shaken her off, too enmired in the idea that he or Flint would prove each other’s downfall. Or perhaps just unwilling to open his eyes to the fact that he had loved Flint.
It was, unfortunately for the both of them, even more obvious after the thing between them had broken. Just as Silver had thrown away the war out of love for her, Flint had let Silver take away the war rather than kill him.
God. What a group the three of them were, showing love by betrayal.
Post-canon. Madi and Flint find their way back to Silver.

Pete feels... itchy. Restless. He's been on the move for so long that even this well needed rest feels wrong. It feels dangerous. It is dangerous. The more you move, the less people look at you. The less they look, the safer you are.
So, the four weeks he's spent living at the Garraty house feels like forever. He still feels like an intruder.
It's time, he decides, to give it up. Ray doesn't love him, not in the way he wants him to. It's time to do what he does best and move on.
