The end of summer is rapidly approaching, and with it, the promise of bitter, gruelling adulthood, ready to suck the life out of her; and her brother's not going to be there to help her through it. She wishes summer would last just a little longer, just enough to work things out.
Bill Cipher is all set to grant her wish in his unique Cipher-esque way, until a tall, rosy-cheeked young woman appears out of nowhere and punches his mortal vessel in the face. A woman who claims to have lived through what Mabel is living through. Literally. She says Mabel shouldn't be afraid of growing up, but she's not sure she'd even believe herself.

This is a short, horribly cluttered, out of character, messy fic partly inspired by my experiences with family. It's probably beyond fixing but I spent too dang long working on this to just throw it away.---

I am amazed that so many of you wonderful friends liked this piece enough to share it. I logged off of this site (and many others) quite a while ago and haven't really come back. I just kind of forgot about it. And then I was scrolling my feed and saw a beautiful, glorious comic rendition of this fic by Tumblr user r0b0t1me. It hit me completely by surprise, and it was EXACTLY how I imagined while writing it. Please go support them!
I am no longer on Tumblr and can't get in contact with many of you, but know that I am honored to see your responses. I have been having a very rough time these past few years and this means so much more than you guys could know.
