"Hey," he started, noting how Denki softened a bit at how tender his voice suddenly was. "You're not unloveable. I can guarantee it." He raised a hand to Denki's head, slowly brushing down his golden hair and relishing the feeling of the locks against his fingers. The blonde yielded to the touch and sighed, sounding unconvinced.
"How would you know," he mumbled. Hanta swallowed nervously, thanking while simultaneously cursing every god in heaven for how oblivious Denki was.
"I just know."
...in which denki kaminari keeps getting rejected by girls and hanta sero is there to heal him. little does denki know that hanta is head over heels...

Tamaki, tender and soft. Lovely and dreamlike and gentle. Tamaki is so pretty, and so close, and so easy. There's something so calming yet giddying about the thought of reaching out and simply brushing a knuckle against the pale skin of his neck. Mirio imagines the sensation for a split second and the warmth has returned to his cheeks tenfold.

“I know you care about what those little twerps think of you, and I can assure you they think way too highly of you,” Eddie says with a wink, and Steve gives a half-hearted smirk for just a moment. “But look… I know I can’t ask you to stop worrying about those kids, so how about this? You worry about them, and you let me—actually let me—worry about you.”
Steve pushes his hair back, and yet again, gravity instantly pulls it back down, since he’s looking at his feet. “…I don’t need anyone to worry about me.”
“Too fucking bad. Someone’s gotta do it, and it’s gonna be me.”
“Why?” Steve replies with a raspy laugh, shaking his head slowly.
“Why? Why.” Eddie crosses his arms tightly across his chest, knocking his foot into Steve’s again with a bit more strength. “Because we’re friends, dipshit.”
--In which Eddie's got a reason he's been planning on leaving Hawkins since long before the world almost ended. The only thing keeping him in town at this point? His promise to be friends with Steve Harrington. And Eddie doesn't break promises.

Hop said it’s a bad habit he’s gotten himself into, these night drives. Patrolling the town when everyone’s asleep, nobody to ask the question of why Steve Harrington drives circles through Hawkins past midnight every night.
It’s nearing one a.m. and Steve sighs, because—shit. There's a van on the side of the road that wasn't there on his last lap.
He can’t drive off now. He’s already stopped. Already committed, so Steve swings his keys around his finger and sighs again. Opens the car door.
He comes to a stop a few paces away from the van. Raises his voice slightly when he says, “Hello?”
“Fucking—what, hello? What?” comes a voice from the other side of the van. “Who—jesus, if I’m about to get murdered, I swear to—wait. Harrington? Steve Harrington?”

Or; Steve patrols the streets of Hawkins every night, looking for monsters. One night, he finds Eddie.

“Well, sure.” Steve scrubs a hand through his hair. “Everyone wants to kiss everyone a little bit, right? Like. How did you know it was more than the normal heterosexual amount?”
Robin cannot believe she’s going to have to say this out loud. She glances around the empty store just to make sure no one has somehow teleported in during the last two minutes.
“Steve. Steven. There is no normal heterosexual amount of wanting to kiss people of the same gender.”
He crosses his arms. “Well, that can’t be right.”
