Summary
In the height of the witch trials, Camilla narrowly manages to escape certain death when her house is set on fire and she is left inside. In fear, she runs from any form of civilisation and settles down deep in the woods. What she least expects is being found, but she gets that and much more.
During her time in hiding, the trials have formally been outlawed and she can semi-safely return to society, which she does in the company of Joan, a baker from town that found her hiding space.
Through a lot of trials (aaaahahahah) and tribulations their relationship tightens and Camilla slowly and with difficulty relearns how to live alongside people with Joan's help, while also having to balance her desire to take revenge on the people that ruined her life and learning to control her unusual abilities.
