He'd screamed back at Ben only once, mourning sharp and fresh on both their breaths against each others faces only inches from each other, desperate for him to understand that Peter wished it had been himself on that pavement divinely punished for an argument he could hardly even remember but would gladly die for if it meant May would have walked and how he still wished he were dead day after day because to see her empty shoes untouched upon the doorstep was worse than dying and he'd kill himself a thousand times to bring her back but how dare he suggest that Peter would be happier any other way than with them both.
And Ben had slapped him, then—and Peter thinks for the first time that perhaps he had lost them both after all.
---Aunt May goes after Peter that night, and neither Peter nor Ben were quite the same after that. Good and evil are just words. Monster. Martyr. Mortal. Other nouns and adjectives that don't really mean anything at all. Peter is like a definition. Ben is a passing thought. Tony Stark is an exclamation point.
And life is one big, glaring question mark.

Time became a foreign concept, but he was aware of it passing, could see it in the way the concerned faces looming over him multiplied, hands of different sizes tapped insistently against his face, and the distance the clouds had moved. Roy has a bad day, so when Edward is protesting attending a mission in the north, he assumes it to be petulance. An argument ensues, Roy says things he shouldn't, and subsequently he ends up scrambling to keep Edward from freezing to death by the Drachman border.

Peter gasped in horror. “Nooo!” He dropped to his knees and punched the concrete, “Why?! He was so young! So tasty!”
“I’ll buy you pizza when we get to the tower.”
“You.” Peter’s eyes narrowed as he turned to the pizza murderer, “You have gone too far now.” He warned.
Peter landed on the man’s shoulders to make the man fall onto the roof next to his poor, soaked pizza slice. Peter webbed him up more just in case.
“I would be sorry, if it hadn’t been for the loss of my poor pizza.” Peter sniffed. “A moment of silence for our fallen hero.” He said as he stood on top of Iron Man’s back, a fist to his chest in respect. “Gone but never forgotten. Always in our hearts. May you rest in peace, sweet, sweet pizza slice.”

Summary
Peter has never really considered his age to matter when it came to Spiderman, even though all the adults in his life would disagree. He never thought it would change anything until a fateful encounter with the Sinister Six. When Peter is defeated by Doc Ock and his identity revealed he'll come to find that his age might have just saved his life. The Sinister Six seemingly have a change of heart at the discovery of Peter's age and have decided to keep him safe from the ones that would do him harm, even if it's against Peter's own will. Now trapped with his greatest foes Peter has to use his wits to escape from their clutches, but is it really evil clutches when they seem like they're saving him?

There’s a boy, no older than sixteen years old, chained up in an identical wooden chair across from him. The boy is unconscious, curly hair falling in front of his eyes, head resting against his own chest.
A boy.
Not a man. Not an adult. Just a child.
In a cave, somewhere in Afghanistan with crazy terrorists who’ve already done open-heart surgery on Tony without anesthetics. Who knows what they would do, or have already done, to the boy across from him.
