Summary
Shouta Aizawa is a traveling priest, blessed - or cursed, in his mind - with the ability to see the horrific creatures that live just beyond the normal world. He travels to cleanse and relieve the victims of such curses to protect those vulnerable to their influence. Answering the call from a small village plagued with disease and death, abandoned by their diety, he investigates the shrine that overlooks all of them, and seemingly finds the answer to their prayers.
However, the town is convinced that the reason for their suffering rests in one person. The young boy with wild lilac hair who lives at the shrine. They ask him to do something he hasn't done in years - perform an exorcism. But Aizawa wouldn't dare submit a child to such a harrowing ritual.
The most peculiar thing is that this young boy seems willing to go along with it.
