Summary
Mike watched as El looked around at each of them, struggling to find her words. He recognised the feeling all too well, of having so many thoughts at once and no way of getting them out quick enough. He wished they didn’t have to do this, that they could take El somewhere safe and far away from whatever ordeal she had to live through the past few days, but he knew that wasn’t an option for them, that every second counted.
“El.” Mike laced his fingers through hers and squeezed her hand. “We’ll get there. We will. Can you tell us what is happening, please? So we understand?”
