    “I’m not sleepy,” Yudai declares, a slight whine to his voice. “Can’t we stay up for a bit, Euijoo-yah?”

    Euijoo sighs at him—he looks right into those sparkly, pleading eyes—a little conflicted, mostly endeared. Yudai looks at Euijoo and lies to his face, I’m not sleepy—and Euijoo knows that it’s simply the brittle shell wrapped around a bigger truth: Yudai has missed him.

    “Alright—just ten more minutes, yeah?”

    Euijoo has missed him a lot, too.
