Summary
Late nights like these where his hand's hurt so bad the gloves didn't help were not a foreign concept to Rudo. What made this night particularly hard for the young teen was the absence of Regto. He never planned for not having Regto there to help him through the worst of it, and Rudo wasn't sure what his subconscious would do in order to get the help he needed, but refused to ask for.

Rudo doesn’t remember a time his hands didn’t hurt. It’d be weirder for him to try and imagine a time they didn’t hurt, because then he’d be making shit up, and Rudo was never good with his imagination. Not with things he didn’t understand, couldn’t understand. It just made him… weird. Well, weirder. Distant. The thoughts would spiral, spinning and spinning till they left him dizzy, body threatening to throw up all his gross, rotted insides all over his shoes and then he’d be pissed off and confused and… empty. So, so empty. But then the pain would remind him he was real and rotted and then he wouldn’t feel so empty because the pain would fill him up, up, up. No empty space left to worry about.
That pain was everything, it was all he’d ever known. That persistent, prickling, nerve pinching pain of whatever fucked up shit his parents persecuted their infant son to has been like a phantom in his bones since before, well, just before. Before Regto. Everything before Regto was bad and terrible and something to be forgotten. Before Regto was painful, pure agony. And now, after Regto…
It was unbearable.
Or: This is a story about hurting. This is a story about healing.

Summary
After being repeatedly rejected and ostracized by his family and classmates for being Satan's son, Rin Okumura becomes consumed with guilt and despair. He feels like an unbearable burden to everyone around him, especially his younger brother, Yukio. In his darkest moments, Rin decides to take his own life on his birthday, believing that his absence would bring peace to everyone.
In his final moments, Rin is offered an unexpected lifeline by an angelic figure, who sees a broken soul, not just a demon. The angel offers Rin an apprenticeship under the Vatican, with the stipulation that he must dedicate his life to humanity's protection. Rin reluctantly agrees and leaves behind his old life, taking Kuro with him to begin this new journey.
Two years later, Rin comes back, reunion happens. The past mistakes and pain still linger, and the lessons learned during Rin’s time away serve as an ever-present reminder of the cost of their neglect.

He had ordered his men to aid the civilians as their guns were essentially useless against whatever mythical form that news reporter Mymo morphed into. Of course, he wanted nothing more but to fight that monster head-on—he was, after all, the second-in-command of the Red Horn Squad 1, with a mission to apprehend Mymo and his henchmen. If it wasn't for Mymo's jinki, then maybe he could've finished his job way sooner.
Maybe his little brother would still be breathing normally, without a hole in his stomach.
