    In a world where humans and demons have long been tangled in a deep-rooted conflict and skepticism towards each other, Wei Wuxian - a child born from an unheard union of the two races, an anomaly to the world - was forced to live on the streets after the sudden, unfortunate death of his parents. As fate would allow it, he encountered Lan Wangji, beloved and renowned second young master of the prominent Gusu Lan Sect, one of the most respected cultivational sects among the humans. He received a memento from him, yet their meeting was cut short without the two young children even exchanging a single word before they were separated.

    Years passed and Wei Wuxian, now a young master to the Jiang Family of Yunmeng who saved him from a life as a tramp, was tasked with a mission to investigate the root of conflict between the humans and demons.
