Summary
“I've seen that face before. It’s the face of someone who can’t see a way through anymore.”
It hurt to say, and based on Robby’s expression, it hurt to hear. Jack watched as his friend’s face filtered through an array of emotions, everything from hurt to offended to angry to defeated.
“I’ve seen it before. I’ve felt it before. And I can’t walk away from it, Robby. I can’t walk away from you. Please don’t ask me to.”or
Jack devised a plan to prevent Robby from leaving -- blowing up the motorcycle was his first choice, having a heart-to-heart was his second.

Summary
The first time Dr Michael Robinavitch encounters Detective Jack Abbot is on a Tuesday afternoon outside Central Seven. Jack has a black eye and tension in his shoulders from being on high alert.
It's not the last time they meet.
Jack continues to come into the ED with suspicious injuries, and as their friendship grows, Jack refuses to let Robby in and tell him what's really going on. Robby is convinced something bad is going to happen to the person he's started to fall for, and he feels powerless to stop it.

Summary
A figure down by central fifteen catches his attention, the sight causing an immediate visceral reaction. His heart rate spikes, and his hand clenches at his side.
"What the fuck is he doing here?"
Dana follows Robby's gaze across the open plan area to where Jack Abbot is talking to Collins.
Dana lets out an exhausted sigh.
Robby fucking hates the man.
Luckily, the sentiment is returned, and Jack Abbot can't stand him either.

Summary
A failed airway, a successful crike, and Robby who shows up like it’s his given right to be there. Jack’s night shift ends in the trauma bay, but his real recovery begins in Robby’s snow-lit kitchen. Where warm hands, soft smiles, and a pot of his grandmother’s matzo ball soup wait for him. Jack wasn’t expecting to fall in love at half past seven in the morning, but as the soup simmers and Robby fusses in that nervous, earnest way of his, he starts to realize just how long he’s been pretending not to feel this.
A study in controlled chaos, careful hands, and the difference between saving a life and being given one.
