Warmth swelled in her chest, coating her heart and her throat like the sweet tea he had brewed her the night before. The warmth gave her a rush of a feeling she couldn’t describe, but she felt deeply. Something like kinship, maybe? Or perhaps affection, or attachment, or a combination of all three.
What she did know, however, is that the warmth lit a spark in her, a spark that propelled her to take one step forward.
Maria has a... problem. A stalker problem. So, her company assigns her a bodyguard that they believe will be the best fit for the job to live with her and keep her safe 24/7 in case anything happens. The only issue is that they picked a little too well.
