It’s called Next To Me. Chris likes it ‘cause it’s a bit dramatic and he likes to sing it loudly. But every time I hear it, I think of you. Of us. Maybe I’ll play it for you when you wake up.” He chuckled lightly, trying to not think about Buck’s stillness. “Well, YouTube will play it for you. Music is not really my thing.” He stopped, waiting for a quippy retort, a joke, a laugh. Something.
Nothing. Just a bunch of beeping monitors, the whoosh of the ventilator, forcing regular breaths on Buck’s lungs, an alarm going off in another cubicle and some nurse rushing to it.----
or: Buck gets hurt on a call, Eddie takes care of him and Buck is very loved.
