Summary
A year after the disbandment of the Inquisition, the Arlathvhen comes to the woods of Montsimmard.
In exchange for removing the tattoos that are killing him, Fenris reluctantly agrees to protect Solas’s agents at the Dalish celebration — with Hawke by his side to help double-cross them in the end, of course.
Merrill travels to the Arlathvhen to share the newfound truth of the Evanuris with her people, only to find them unwilling to listen to the pariah who caused the death of her Keeper.
Though the festival is filled with reminders of his slaughtered clan, Nebel Lavellan attends to protect his people from Solas and stop them from learning the horrific history of their Creators.
And a chance encounter between them all forces Nebel to face the truth of what it really means to love a former Ben-Hassrath.

Summary
“You know I'm not an ice mage, right? It truly would be a lot less effort on my part to just put a lightning bolt through your skull than it is to attempt to keep you alive.”
“You underestimate yourself,” Bull states, not looking up from helping Lavellan sit up and drink the damn water that everyone seems to think is endless.
Dorian briefly weighs the pros and cons of mercy-killing the Inquisitor's paramour.
“Put down that canteen or I will put you down.”
The cons just barely win. And mostly just because he's sure Lavellan would toss him in the Fade if he dared.
---
Lavellan comes down with hyperthermia at the worst time possible. Bull attempts to take care of him. Lavellan attempts to take care of Bull. Dorian is the only one competent enough to take care of anyone.

Summary
It's just her perfume, he tells himself. But it smells like crystal grace and freshly-chopped wood, and it's the same, oh gods it's exactly the same.
The world twists, and the next thing he knows, he's on the ground, knees tucked up to his chest. When he shuts his eyes, he sees it, and it's like he's back there – vivid images ride on the back of the scent and every detail is perfectly etched out. He sees the dying leaves, the peeling bark, the faded leather – and he's too scared to move or else he'll feel it too.
It's never what he expects.
---
Lavellan is missing the tip of an ear, and no matter how much he refuses to talk about the horrors of whatever happened that day, it just keeps coming back to him.
Note: this doesn't go into detailed descriptions, but does imply some pretty dark stuff. More warnings inside.

Summary
Bull has always tried to avoid imagining worst-case scenarios when faced with a crisis. He's a man who takes action, who gets shit done, while the people around him fret over the what-ifs.
But the worst-case scenario here is that his Kadan is lying dead at the bottom of some pit, never to be seen again.
Or he hasn't died yet and is going to, scared and alone in the dark where Bull can't reach him.
---
Lavellan takes a fall and breaks his back, Dorian bleeds to make it better, and Bull just tries to hold it all together.
