Summary
There is a demon in Alhaitham’s house.
He doesn’t have horns or a tail, but Alhaitham is sure of it. He is a tumor slowly sinking his teeth into every bit of the place Alhaitham once called his and his alone, and he is taking over every inch. He permeates through the air, sinking deep into each corner.
There is a succubus lying on Alhaitham’s couch.
He stays on his stomach even as Alhaitham passes through the door. He kicks his bare ankles into the air, almost seductively. His shirt is loose on his body; the hole in the back begins to expose one of his sides, allowing Alhaitham to gaze upon unblemished milky white skin.
He clears his throat, and dares to under this temptress’s name, “Kaveh.”
The demon turns. Brilliant red eyes flash as the creature gazes at him, a hint of curiosity in his stare. His head tilts to one side, and he places down the pencil he’d been sketching with, the sketchbook disappearing from his interest. “Alhaitham,” he replies simply.

Summary
Kaveh and Alhaitham navigate their lives together pretending their feelings aren’t there, despite it becoming increasingly harder to keep these feelings to themselves. When Kaveh heads to study ruins in the Sumeru desert and does not return, Alhaitham decides that he is done pretending he isn’t in love as he searches for answers.
