Lena is laughing softly at her, and Kara can feel the buzz of it where Lena’s back presses into her thighs. She huffs, irritated. “You want spontaneous? Fine.” She reaches down to Lena’s hand, currently maneuvering her controller, and slips the ring off her thumb. “Here.”
Lena cranes her neck away from the TV to stare up at Kara, thumbs stalling on the buttons. “Hey, that’s my—what are you doing?”
Kara presents the ring before her. “Lena Luthor,” she starts. “You’ve been the love of my life for almost as long as I can remember and my best friend for even longer. And I would be… beyond happy to spend every moment of the rest of our lives together. Marry me?”

“You do know who I am, right?” Fatin asked, but her smile was uneven, almost hesitant if Leah didn’t know any better.
Leah wiped her wet hands on her jeans. “I spent the last nine hours on set with you. So, yeah, I do.”
“You just don’t seem particularly dazzled.”
“Maybe you’re not as dazzling as you think.”
Fatin screwed her eyebrows into an incredulous frown. “Are you kidding? This is my second all nighter this week, I’m glowing like a fucking burlesque dancer right now. The less sleep I get, the more I dazzle.”
Leah’s eye trailed over Fatin’s angular face and damp, wavy hair, her arms draped over the steering wheel, her dark skin clear and radiant even under the orange street lamp glow, and yeah, sleep deprivation shouldn’t look so good on anyone.
So Leah shrugged. “I did say maybe.”

Summary
“It’s a lot easier for me to keep my grip on you when I can actually feel your body.”
The phrase feel your body said in Kara’s voice rattles around in Lena’s head like a pinball machine, but she manages to shrug her sweater off and throw it somewhere behind them before she can second-guess herself. Kara is looking comfortable in a loose white t-shirt, and when she takes Lena by the waist and puts Lena’s hand on her shoulder the texture of it is light and soft.
“Let’s start from square one,” Kara says, so kindly that her next words take a few seconds to register in Lena’s brain. She tightens her grip on Lena’s waist, and says with full confidence:
“Dancing is a lot like sex.”
OR
Against her better judgement Lena agrees to compete on Dancing with the Stars for the PR boost. When her chemistry with her partner Kara gets misconstrued by the press, there’s obviously only one solution.

It was one thing to know something and another to see it with your own eyes, to bear witness to the transformation from a person to the divine and the blood spilled along the way. The tales varied, the stories differed, but there was always blood.
As Kara readied herself to throw again, she reached out with her left hand behind her. Her fingers were open, splayed, searching. I stepped up and grasped them, squeezing with reassurance even as her other arm readied the spear. I would support her always, even in this. Kara had decided, though it was but a war sparked by pride, that she would fight, if only to protect her people. I trusted her judgement.
I cringed at the death, but I was far too selfish to let her go. As each man fell, I squeezed her hand thrice. I. love. you. I chanted in my mind, hoping and praying, but knowing that my love would not be enough to save her.
