Summary
Hua Cheng is a child. He believes in God. Because God is everywhere: he sings on TV, smiles on advertising banners, poses for magazines, and winks from others’ T-shirts. Hua Cheng thinks that since God is everywhere, his prayers can’t be unheard.
Hua Cheng grows up. He still believes in God. However, now he understands that God is loaded with work in the capital and does not hear the prayers offered to Him. So Hua Cheng doesn’t ask for anything anymore. He knows that he will not get an answer.
He knows, and yet for some reason God begins to answer him.
