The siege on Candlekeep is over & done, and archfey/aberrant mind sorcerer-warlock Lady Elspeth Halemont and her party, the C.R.E.E.P.S., have succeeded. The Weave is protected and the evil wizard council known as the Arcane Brotherhood is vanquished, leaving them to live on their lives as the heroes of the Sword Coast. This follows the immediate arrival of Elspeth and her partner (roommate? girlfriend? ex-assassin?) Valor at Elspeth's newly-acquired home in the fey realms that once belonged to her mother, the (now) ex-Unseelie Queen. Now that the Sword Coast is saved, it is time for some respite and new adventures. Together.

The hoofprints in the road. The smell of a campfire. The worn spot in his bedroll. The tread in his boots, slipping along a hill. The whinny of a horse. A dead body along the road. The stars, oh the stars. They ache to reflect Geralt’s eyes one last time, and Jaskier weeps as he tells them that it isn’t to be. He’s grateful that they grieve him, too. It makes the loneliness more tolerable.
