“I would rather die.” She adds, tone light. It’s not something Castiel’s heard from her in a while – from being bedridden and unconscious for days, to beating herself up, to that hair mental breakdown she’d had two weeks back…
It makes something in his chest feel warm. Nostalgic. He makes an odd sound, something like he’s scolding her, though only very lightly.
“Don’t die, kid. Swear to the Guardian Spirit…”
She shrugs. “World’s not gonna save itself. I won’t die.”

Recovery from something that (realistically) should've killed you isn't easy nor linear. Ramona finds herself lucky to have people looking out for her, even when she herself can't.

She really is happy – Minnie’s back to normal, there’s no more Dark Lord, or Darker Lord for that matter, to speak of. Plus, everyone’s getting along, even if Mars is really resistant to such changes, and on the other end of that there’s Neptune, who apologizes every waking moment of their life.
The issue, ironically, is how relaxed everything is. She isn’t used to free time – before it’d been college, and then saving the world. So two equally stressful things taking up all her time, really. She’s twenty one at this point, so shouldn’t she live a little? Put herself out there?
Little steps, she tells herself, which is why she starts off with getting to know Yekaterina more, in all of their ethereal sort of beauty.
