Once, the people of Enkanomiya tried to stop the reincarnation of the Hydro Sovereign. They tainted the bloodline of the Vishaps, adding Cryo and Electro until they were entirely unsuitable for a being of pure Hydro, and studied them like rats to be sure. Only too late did they discover their efforts were in vain. Like a dam, little more was achieved than a temporary blockage. An inconvenience.
Hardly anything, really.
And myself? I'd always known it would take more than mortal efforts to stop a sovereign's reincarnation. That, even in their attempts, they would fail and the dragon would find himself to walk among the human race--always a perfectly suitable second choice. Which really, I don't understand why they'd want to stop the process when they very well could be using it to their advantage. As I do.(A story in which the author aims to explore Neuvillette's debut to the human world.)
