'Oh well, another time then,' Wootton smiled, and that was Sherlock's signal to rouse James, who was staring intently at Mycroft (although if Sherlock was clueless, heavens know what he could have gleaned), spit out a few pleasantries and offer a hand, before hastening back to their rooms to discover what the hell his brother dear was hiding.
Mycroft watched the retreating backs of the two infuriating young men and noted with the despair of a man condemned to the gallows: he had just become interesting to Sherlock.

It took him twice as much as anyone else to even get to the starting line, it took him triple the effort just to be left alone, it took a week of Carlos cleaning all of the bear traps before Cruella even let him out of the house, and it has taken him 16 years of clawing and scraping and screaming to be further behind than where some prince was born.
Anger or cowardice or spite. There's more Cruella in him than he'd like.

I’m simply dying to know—” There was a pause, and a sound like straining bones beneath the soft shuffle of woollen robes. “—because from where I’m sitting, my little spark, it almost looks like you care about this… unfortunate thing you’ve stolen.”
“I didn’t steal him, mother,” Mal grit out. “I claimed him as mine. He’s been mine for years—”
“Oh, has he?” came the sharp reply, a strange sort of humour laced all through the words.

A year after House’s funeral, Cameron is doing 90 in a 70 zone, flooring the pedal over the freeway, when a semi swerves, barricading the road, and the steel rung crashes through her windshield. Blood loss, and a contusion on impact. She loses three pints and two years, and when she wakes up in sterile sheets and a hospital gown, she finds she no longer remembers the divorce, or the reason her ring finger is now bare. The funny thing about fact is this, it is true whether you believe it to be or not. But House is gone, so there is no one to contradict her when she thinks, sometimes, our perception matters just as much as the truth.
The human body contains 1.5 gallons of blood. Fact.
An adult brain weighs 3 pounds. Fact.
Her marriage ended 3 years ago… Fact?
