Rogue stood, and began to walk away. Just as her dying body was just about to be out of sight, he turned his head and looked back. Under the brim of his hat, he could see her barely-breathing body, and for the first time, her face. She didn’t look like the incredible warrior she always said she was. Not in this moment. Her face looked…scared. He had never seen that woman scared before. Not in the tournament when he used shatterspin to try and end her life, not when she was fighting a being on the level of a source dragon, not when she was plummeting 300 feel down from her own flying pirate ship.
Rogue huffed out a breath, and made a decision.

Essentially a rewrite of that one scene where Nya finally finds Jay after the tournament of the sources but Nya gets hurt instead. Like… way more hurt.

Summary
Lyra sat on the ledge, fingers holding on to the thick concrete as she stared off into the city skyline. She hadn't been up this high in almost a year. After her father died, now in the dead of night, she came here to think. Her hands stuck to the cold concrete as if they had been glued to it, her short hair gracefully danced around her face as the wind glided all around her. Lyra took in a low breath, slowly let go of the ledge, and put her hands in her lap.
She flexed her fingers, staring at them as if they were foreign objects. She hadn't used her spider powers in over a year. After she failed to keep her father alive, she quit the mighty job of Spiderwoman and crawled back to the nothingness she was before she had become this world's hero. She knew she couldn't save him; every Spider-Man or Spider-Woman lost someone close to them, it was intertwined into their destiny, but she never got over the thought that she could have saved him.

Summary
When danger crosses your path, do you fight? Do you bleed at the mercy of your attacker's blade? Or do you run, and hope never to look back?
Kai was posed with this question all his life. And he always chose to fight. To fight the fears that grabbed him at the neck, that stapled him to the floor and made him bleed. To fight the fears that beat him until he was broken and bruised and bloody. But not this time. This time, he couldn't take it anymore.
--AKA, Kai and Lloyd get captured and Kai is forced to dwell on the issues his team is facing for many, many days.

Summary
Being possessed and then stabbed by his own teammate and brother had been a bad enough experience for Lloyd, but Morro unfortunately has more misery in store for him; incensed at being defeated and left with nothing but his hatred for the boy who took the destiny he believes should have been his, Morro's goal is nothing less than causing as much pain to Lloyd, both physically and emotionally, as possible... by forcing the person who promised to protect him to be the one to hurt him.
Tl;dr: Morro kidnaps Lloyd and tortures him in various ways while possessing Kai, who can't do anything but watch, and the other ninja try to find out where they are.

Summary
Sixty years ago, Emperor Garmadon took over Ninjago and the age of the Dark Empire began. After years of training, Kai and his companions attempt to finally put a stop to his evil rule, but their mission fails and Kai is the only one left in the ashes of their defeat. He's captured and tortured until the day comes that Emperor Garmadon finds a use for him—to become the personal bodyguard of his only son, Lloyd. Kai agrees with no intention of following through on any of Garmadon's orders, but when he becomes attached to the boy, he starts to believe that with Lloyd there is hope for the future.
But the road to hell is paved with good intentions. With his new life's purpose, to put the boy on a path of good, Kai is faced with the inevitable price of sacrificing his own soul.
All the while, the companions he'd thought long gone work relentlessly to build up a rebellion to face the Empire of the Darkest Night and get revenge for the supposed "death" of their lost friend.
