Summary
“I did not expect to see you work as the Starshyna’s messenger boy,” Varka said with a relaxed, almost all-knowing smile. “What happened to Illuga?”
“Nothing,” Flins said. “The Starshyna believes you might try to steal him away from the Ratniki. It is more appropriate if I come instead.”
Varka had to find something funny in Flins’s half-truth, laughing first and then tapping his chin pensively. “Is he not afraid of me trying to steal you away? I’ll say, it seems like his judgment isn’t as sharp as he’d want it to be.”
Varka was a very touch-oriented person. Always clapping shoulders, patting backs, or holding onto his friends’ arms when he laughed too hard. Flins wanted to feel that for himself.
But when he had it, it felt shallow. He missed the lingering touches, their feet playing under the table, their hands gravitating towards one another. He wanted Varka to hold him and never let go.
It was a lot to ask because Varka did not belong to the graveyard or to Nod-Krai. He belonged to his family back in Mondstadt, whom he had never spoken to Flins about.
Because for the first time, it was Flins who was temporary—not the other way around.

It ended with a night in a tavern, for somewhat reason Flins challenged Varka to a drinking match. He lost—or maybe he didn’t, because hours later, Varka found himself in the weight of him, pinned down like vengeance wrapped in silk and heat.
It wasn’t just of the alcohol.It was half liquor, half mistake—and neither of them is ready to admit which half they liked more.

As soon as the words slipped out between Yuji’s lips, regret took over at the sight of Sukuna’s face. He honestly didn’t know how the curse would react, expecting to be shoved off again as the more likely outcome than the full-body freeze he was witnessing.
The curse’s eyes widened, bewildered by the form of address Yuji had used. It wasn’t like a Yuji could have used his name, and he was still in Fushiguro’s body, which for better or for worse gave him the stature of a teenager… He’d made Sukuna livid, hadn’t he?
This was how his life was going to end.
❤ Yuji gets attacked while alone and turned into a child. His memories are all intact, but no one else needs to know that. Especially when the first person to find him is the curse who abandoned him once already.
