The Long Game is written entirely from Hermione's POV. It's a character study in which I attempt to dissect her ambitiousness, her fears around loving and being loved, and how those two things conflict with each other as she becomes more entangled with Draco and, subsequently, his friends, family and the family business. This is a grown up, morally complex Hermione navigating the world of ruthless office politics in an alternate modern universe resembling the corporate backdrops of TV shows like Succession and Industry.

Determined to fall out of love, the two try everything they can think of to kill the attraction between them. Unfortunately, as Best Maid and Man of Honour for Harry and Pansy's upcoming nuptials, the two keep finding themselves in situations that only make them fall harder.
How exactly do two people fall out of love when:
1) distance, famously known to make the heart grow fonder, does exactly that,
2) a part-pixie witch is hell-bent on playing matchmaker, and
3) they smell like each other's Amortentia?Spoiler alert: They don't.
