He kissed a path across Alphinaud's collarbone, humming softly as he made to give the other side of his neck attention. "Fine," Estinien conceded, although not before he pecked once more at the scholar's throat. He pulled away, admiring the way Alphinaud's chest heaved and cheeks flushed hot pink.
With a breathless laugh, Alphinaud beamed up at him, his jubilance palpable and infectious. Estinien returned the smile; these feelings, the familiar warmth in his gut that he thought only his parents and sibling could provide, was blossoming anew in the pit of his stomach.
Because family is family, after all, and gladly would he cherish this new addition. No matter what.

Summary
If one were to point it out to Alisaie, lovesickness is not an expression that suits her brother well. It makes him look too vulnerable, too distracted from his usual sharp mind. Yet, it’s one that he wears nonetheless upon the presence of a certain Dragoon. So if Alphinaud is going to be a piss poor judge of character, then Alisaie will have to assess Estinien for him. Thoroughly, of course.
Too bad she finds herself more and more unimpressed each time she does so.
Or: Alisaie fights the dilemma that out of everyone, it’s Estinien that Alphinaud has eyes for.
