Something flickered across her face, the humor faltering, nerves slipping in. She hesitated, words tumbling like she’d been holding them back too long.
“Not… any night,” she blurted. “I mean… I wouldn’t even know,” she exhaled sharply. “I’ve never…”
Her cheeks flushed, her eyes darting away. “I’ve never been with anyone.”
The words punched through him. His body went taut, pulse hammering so loud he was sure she could hear it. Without thinking, his hands slid lower, gripping her hips and tugging her into him.
