Summary
Reader and Fukuzawa met each other one fateful day in 1976, Fukuzawa was six years old, and Reader was four. Reader moved from Canada to a small fishing town where the Fukuzawa family estate resides. Fukuzawa is shy, focussing on his training in the art of the sword. Once he sees Reader move into a run-down old house, things change. He lets her in, not sure why, and they become inseparable.
Years and years go by, and Fukuzawa begins longing for a different relationship. He falls for her more and more, and he's never loved anyone else. But when Reader has her own problems to deal with, they must go their separate ways, for how long?
short and sweet: Reader and Fukuzawa are childhood friends turned sweethearts, but due to a tragic circumstance, they have to go their separate ways, Fukuzawa promises to wait for her. The story takes place over a span of 25-30 years.
