Summary
The Door, once shut, was locked away, with despair its secret key; sacrifice, the one hope of seeing it unsealed.
When the twilight of the gods at last descends upon this world, what emerges from the unseeable expanse beyond that Door will be but music, and that devoid of words: the lamentations of the Goddess Etro, as She sobs Her song of grief. -

Summary
Beginning with an analysis of the origins of the gods' names in the Fabula Nova Crystallis video-games, my aim for this series is to provide the groundwork for understanding and ultimately practicing religion as it existed in its many forms through the Fabula Nova Crystallis setting. If nothing else, this should help fans of the series' games understand their lore more comprehensively.

Summary
Six years after the rebels of Celestial Mechanics turned the Lunar Gravity Well inside-out, and put an end to humanity's role in space, the new unified space program founded to understand and confront an actualized alien threat to Earth is long dead. Its three children now pick over its corpse for scraps. Each faction has a radically different vision of humanity's future in a world that no longer belongs to them, and each will fight to the last to ensure that their particular flavor of extra-terrestrial diplomacy is realized.
It is the eve of humanity's second civil war in space, and three young women, brought together by circumstance, will come to shape the course of human history. Luna willing, they'll get into some hot-blooded mech fights and sloppy makeout sessions along the way.

Bookmarker's Notes
The best Avatar fanfiction that i've ever encountered, and to be recommended, in my opinion, alongside F.C. Yee's Avatar novels in what it adds to the setting. It is sadly underrated and little-known, despite its stellar premise and high-quality prose.
The Legend of Korra was a very flawed TV series that i feel failed to live up to its potential or to its predecessor. The Dynamite Club completely recontextualises Korra's character, with new friends, new struggles as the Avatar, and new loves. The fanfic introduces many original characters who fit seamlessly into this world and who i wish i could see even more of - they're brilliant and charismatic. The setting is also slightly altered, alleviating a lot of the Eurocentrism and poor writing of spirits found in the show. It is a far more realised setting for the changes, and the world feels alive beyond the characters who show it to us.
The premise of this fanfiction is that each chapter takes place from the perspective of one of Korra's enemies, leading to each of them being fleshed out with a rich inner life and their own belief system such that noone is two-dimensional or a strawman, all having their reasons for opposing her. The changes to canon events also lead to different characters coming into conflict with her and different resolutions to problems. There's a lot of fun plot twists here!
Lastly, this fanfic greatly respects the reader's intelligence. The reader is thrown in the deep end with canon and original characters introduced in the same manner, and many events left unexplained - the reader must be patient or read closely to work out who is who and what precisely is going on, especially with the limited and biased perspectives of each of the characters. There is so much to look forward to - please give this story a chance if you are a fan of Avatar at all! -

Beautiful, horrifying, tragic. A romance of a sorts, if you look at it the right way. The untold story of the Firekeepers, from the perspective of Anastacia of Astora, and of the political machinations of the gods that trap her and her kind between light and dark alike. A story of her resolve to be free, and the steps she must take to do so. i’ve not found another Dark Souls fanfic quite like it.

Summary
What Max doesn't realize is that when she abandons a timeline, she also abandons a version of herself within it. A version of herself with different memories and a different life— a version of herself with no powers. A version of herself that, once possessed, is never the same.
A version of herself that must deal with the consequences of the choices she has made.

i almost can’t write this rec coherently, i’m in such a ragged emotionl state right now because of this goddamn fic. Major is one of, if not the best writer(s) in this fandom and everything she touches honestly turns to gold and this fic shows her at some of her best. she writes max perfectly, and brings in the complex supernatural elements of the story with such skill it you can almosst feel what max is feeling as the universe itself torments her. this fic is one huge emotional rollercoaster form start to finish. read it. you will not regret it.

Summary
Hundreds of thousands of sweeps after its colonization by interuniversal refugees from Earth C’s troll population, Al2rnia is dying a death of a thousand cuts. Global cooling has spiraled out of control, unrest, climate disruption, and escalating labor demands alike have decimated the workforce, and the impenetrable hatching ziggurat can hardly maintain the rate of replacement for the warmblooded corpses piling up in the icy seas.
Alone in the stygian depths of the hadal zone, a fuchsia heiress prepares her coming-of-age pitch for the Shark Tank: her one shot at joining the Al2rnian Board of Directors for an immortal lifetime’s tenure and the chance to put the planet back on track.
Your name is VINBRE MALCOS and you are going to save the world or die trying.

Particular favourites are Memoriam Immortal, an amazingly written and heartbreakingly angsty post-Control fic, and the False Shepard, about the last survivors of the Reaper War post-Refusal… all of these are really well written, basically
