He almost smiles behind the mask, tugging it down just a little to take in the ocean air beyond this little patch. “Seishiro… Do you still think of me, too?” he whispers out into the nothing, fingers tightening around the metal pipe. “I still don’t know who I am without you. Isn’t that a little stupid?” he asks, laughing softly. His eyes flutter back open, “You were the only one that didn’t command me to be anyone else… sometimes I wonder if you loved me like I loved you.” Reo’s heart aches, tender and sore and cut wide open for the world to see. “We’re both in our twenties now, I wonder if you’ve moved on… or if you’re also here talking to me, somewhere on the other side..”
Reo walks a familiar trail to his past and begins to speak to the moon, missing his old friend. When he turns away, he finds exactly what he's been searching for.
