Summary
Crowkeepers, of course, are not supposed to be able to walk. It’s a ridiculous thought, meant to remain delegated to fairy tales and horror stories at campfires. But last he checked, his eyes are in working order, and she has no reason to doubt the legitimacy of living straw men with the very real injury he now sports like some sort of dreadful trophy.
It had carried around a rusted hoe, and it had aimed to kill. Had his reflexes been any worse, he’d be without a head.
Naoto inherits an old farmhouse. The case that comes with it is far from pleasant.

“There’s an argument to be made about chess being one of the more practical games to take part in while conversing,” Shirogane explained. “Easier to stop in between turns and whatnot. I thought you might appreciate having something to do while we spoke. Unless you have something better in mind?”
“You just came out here to talk with me? I don’t believe that for a second,” Hanamura pointed out sharply. “There’s gotta be something else you get out of this.”
The drawer farthest from him popped open, revealing the black pieces. A mysteriously generous offer in letting him go first, but it only further fanned the flames of his misgivings. “I assure you, my reasoning is hardly profound. You’re the only other Shadow Self that persists, which piqued my interest, and the simplest way to address things was to come to you directly.” The black queen was placed on the board with a thunderous clack. “So, do you want to play or not?”
Hanamura's continued existence is a problem. Shirogane doesn't seem to agree.

Summary
Hiding skeletons in the closest might qualify as a double entendre if the skeleton that he was hiding made him a little gayer than he would prefer being.
It was difficult for him to keep up with everything that had happened in recent months. So many life-changing events were packaged tightly into this single year to form an overflowing library, and trying to parse through the catalogue to figure out how he had gotten to this point – which was swapping spit with Naoto Shirogane, of all people, behind the entrance to the school roof on the regular – required a certain procedure. He had to walk down memory lane in chronological order for him to remember things correctly.
Yosuke knows how to accept himself by now, but sometimes yielding to the truth means putting yourself at the mercy of others. Not everyone has good intentions.

Summary
He still wasn’t sure how that connection had come to pass. Akechi had always been equally complacent in the lack of communication. No amount of calls or letters or anything of the sort had ever been responded to, and Naoto had been willing to give up. For a change to have been brought about now, of all times, seemed odd at a surface level. But maybe the “Second Generation Detective Prince”, as it were, saw his personal hiatus as an opportunity to try reconstructing burnt bridges.
Seven years was a long time. Seven years without seeing his little cousin. It hurt. Deeply. She just hoped she was doing things correctly.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Maybe there's a kernel of truth to be found in the saying, even if it involves having your entire identity stolen and cheaply replicated for the sake of celebrity status.
