Decades after his death, the sorcerer world would still recount the past in two great periods: before the shift, and after.
The shift, of course, was most commonly known as referring to the birth of one Satoru Gojo, holder of both his family’s prized techniques and the sorcerer of an age. Perhaps a disruption, planned or otherwise, was what caused the second half of the shift. One Naoya Zen'in was supposed to be born on a cold autumn day. And he still is - except he also isn't. But he still could be. Time is funny like that.Or, a fic that examines the impact on canon when one little element is shifted sliiiiightly to the right. Naoya isn't born Naoya, but someone else, with a different name and a different future. Armed with the (admittedly fuzzy) foreknowledge of what's to come - what was and what might still be, the newest Zen'in struggles to effect any changes whatsoever when faced with the intricate and frustrating sorcerer world. In the end, sometimes all you can do is hope your convictions will be enough.

Summary
After dying on the Death Star, Obi-Wan Kenobi expects to; well, die. Instead, he wakes up in the initiate dorms at the Coruscant Temple. The Force has sent him back in time, given him a second chance, and he knows what he needs to do. At twelve years old, his life is at a crossroads. Does he apprentice to Qui-Gon Jinn or does he join the AgriCorps. He knows the fate of the galaxy if he chooses the former and so he dedicates himself to the latter.
Only, the Force works in mysterious ways. When a third option is presented, becoming Yan Dooku's Padawan, Obi-Wan has to make a decision.
With a new master and a new chance, Obi-Wan is determined to save the galaxy from Sidious's plans for it.

‘Oh, no,’ he thinks to himself, staring blankly at the unfamiliar reflection in the mirror. ‘I could have at least been someone relevant to the plot, like Gojo or Sukuna. Instead I’m a background character.’
Recognition sinks him further into despair, when it finally creeps in and he puts a name to his own face.

An attempt at a SI-fic with a character not quite lucky enough to be given easy access to the main cast. Sporting a fresh case of “amnesia” and a disgustingly overpowered cursed technique to balance out his ineptitude, the casual fan who’s replaced Naoya Zen’in has enough on his plate without having to muddle through clan politics and the social repercussions of incarnating as such an utter bastard. It’s going to be really hard to save the world and not die when he’s barely involved in the original plot … and when he never even finished the damn manga.
Maybe he’s only half-lying when he says he doesn’t remember anything.
