Ramattra wondered if he had been needlessly cruel about the whole ordeal. It was an unhelpful thing to wonder that in no way affected him, but the thought clung to him, unshakable.
Four months, fifteen days, eight hours, twenty-four minutes and forty-nine seconds since he last saw her. Since she pieced him back together, painstaking in her attention to detail, rebuilding a stranger that only intended to condemn them both to war. Foolishly naïve, blindly trusting. A paradox.
