Summary
Ren couldn't help but stare at Martyn once more. He couldn’t stand the silence any longer and allowed his mind to take over his body. He shuffled a bit closer to Martyn and sat up a bit to be hovering over the other. Ren lifted Martyn’s chin up with his fingers to turn to his eyes. His other hand grabbed one of Martyn’s and held him by the wrist.
“Martyn, I— look at me.”
He could hear a faint breath that drew from the other man as his blue eyes stared up at Ren’s.
“Please forgive me for what I’m about to do.”

Ren sets up a picnic date with him and Martyn, planning to confess his love to his friend.

Summary
Martyn had talked to plenty of high ranked people before, a few of them still way above his own rank, but this wasn’t the same.
There was something new about seeing this man, long brown hair cascading on his shoulder from so close. A man that he had only seen from afar and told to protect with his life, now standing in front of him and acknowledging his presence as more than just a soldier amongst many. The king knew his name and had personally asked for him.
And, in an instant, Martyn found himself alone in the room with the known and feared red king.

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
