Ruby had laid out the rules, more and more smug as she had gone on. “So if Regina wears a red dress, you have to pick a fight with her.” Emma hadn’t questioned that one. “But if she wears blue, you have to give her a compliment. And if she wears grey, you gotta call her Your Majesty.” She’d been a little drunk, too, enough that she’d gotten bold. “Light colors mean you have to tell her whatever’s on your mind. Whatever.” Her eyes had narrowed in ominous delight. “And for black…for black, you have to flirt with her.”

Summary
A 14.13 Lebanon rewrite. When Dean uses a wish-granting pearl to try and kill the archangel Michael before he can escape the cage in Dean's head, they instead wind up with a newly-resurrected John Winchester.
It's been more than a decade since John died, and a lot has changed: Mary is alive, Sam and Dean have what passes for a proper home in the Men of Letters Bunker, and they're living with angels. John doesn't know angels are real, he doesn't know about the fragile new relationship between Dean and Castiel, and most of all, he doesn't know that Dean said yes to Michael, or that Dean's plan to defeat Michael would send him to a fate worse than death.
Now Dean must contend with both his father asking questions he can't answer, and his loved ones learning about the darker truths of his childhood, all while constantly battling the archangel trapped inside him. But Dean coming to terms with his history may be the difference between this being the beginning of a journey—or the end.

It wasn’t that Dean wasn’t happy to have his dad back, he was; he was over the moon about it. His mom was alive, his dad was alive, hell – Sam, Jack, and Cas were all alive. Dad had made up with his sons, was working on things with Mary, and he liked Jack. So, Dean of course was, again, beyond thrilled to have his entire family back, pieced together. Things were great. That just left Cas.

He doesn't recognize himself when he looks in the mirror, and that's a good thing. There's no reason to hide anymore. There's no reason to hide anymore.

After Metatron steals Castiel's grace, and Cas comes to live in the bunker, Dean spends a lot of time with him, sharing all of his favourite things. Dean can't help it if sharing things with Cas just makes everything better. Besides, it's Dean's job as Cas' friend to introduce him to the joys of human life. To teach him how to be human.
And if one of the experiences they end up sharing is sex with women, well... that's just part of Dean's job as Cas' friend too, right?
The desire is triangulated, the rituals are intricate.

“You know you can’t turn Cas into a mini-Dean,” Sam said“First, if I did, Cas'd be all set, 'cause I'm awesome,” Dean said. “Second, that’s not what this is about. Cas needs to know how to get by in the world. He needs someone to teach him how to just be a guy.”
Sam’s face scrunched up. “He already is just a guy.”
“But he doesn’t know how to be one,” Dean insisted, like it was an obvious fact, and Sam was a little dim for not getting it.

That’s the problem, he thinks. At its core, it comes down to taking down what took everything from them. Because, it really wasn’t just limited to their mother. He’d been enrolled in an elementary school and was the most popular girl in the fourth grade when John had made them move to the United States. Sam had only just started kinder and never got to watch the newest episode of Plaza Sesamo that was supposed to premiere the day after they left. They’d left most of their belongings in the little house in Mexico City and arrived on new soil, with people speaking a language that was foreign to them, and were forced to learn to survive here.
Their lives, living in a place where they’re considered strangers, and are by definition “illegal,” is what should drive Sam to wanting to kill the monster that killed their mom. If they kill that, they can go home.

Summary
Castiel thought about the things he knew were true. First, he was in love with Dean, had loved him for years. Second, Dean didn’t return his feelings. Dean couldn’t return his feelings. Castiel knew that Dean loved him, of course, but Dean loved him like a brother, like family. Third, Dean treated hunting as a calling. He’d told Castiel before that he knew he’d die on a hunt someday as though that was his destiny. Hunting wasn’t something Dean would readily give up.
Yet it was clear that Dean also loved Jack. He’d stepped up and acted as Jack’s father without anyone asking him to and it was a role he was well-suited to. And Castiel had found his thoughts wandering back to that one afternoon he still wished he could change, to watching Dean rake leaves in the yard of a suburban house as though there was nowhere else in the world he’d rather be.
It was that memory that had led Castiel to carefully say, “Dean, if you wanted to, you could live with Jack and I.”
