“Alhaitham? Where are you?” Cyno’s unusually panicked tone sent Alhaitham's heart into a rapid, uneven rhythm - he was breathing heavily, like he was sprinting. “Actually - doesn’t matter,” Cyno said quickly before Alhaitham could respond. “It’s - fuck, fuck. Inazuma - crazy bastards, they launched missiles, headed straight for the city. Ten minutes. I’m going to find Nari, be with him at the end. I-” click. The line cut out.
In the sudden silence, Alhaitham heard the terminals in the offices nearby shutting down too. Fuck.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Alhaitham took off sprinting, ignoring the panicked glances from scholars in the halls as he shoved past them without apology. None realized the true peril hurtling toward them from across Teyvat - and Alhaitham didn’t much care to warn them. He had to get home. Now.
If the world was ending, there was only one person he wanted by his side.

Summary
Day 12-13: Sniper Alhaitham AU/Edge play
It should be a very normal work day for Alhaitham, but, as soon as he learns the identity of his target, everything starts crumbling. Soon, he finds himself in the middle of a run for his life together with his husband — who, it turns out, isn't exactly the person Alhaitham thought him to be.
Alhaitham can’t bring himself to respond, watching Kaveh. Wary. He couldn’t blame Kaveh too much for this, could he? Alhaitham wouldn’t appreciate seeing his spouse on the roof of a neighboring building, pointing the muzzle of TAC-50 into his face either. He probably would have freaked out enough to knock Kaveh out for pulling a stunt like that, too — and Alhaitham doesn’t like to think of himself as a dramatic person. Kaveh, on the other hand… That talk he’s mentioned? That is going to be interesting. Alhaitham wishes he could say he looks forward to it.
Though some clarity would be nice. Like, for instance, anything about when Kaveh became physically capable of making it to the rooftop of a building in less than three minutes and dragging him to… wherever this place is.
