Summary
Born from the spit and blood of the gods’ wrath, a child rose from the dirt where two gods had fought. Like a newborn turtle crawling to the sea, the child made his way through the thick mist of a gloomy dawn, towards a golden palace standing proud and tall. 'Home', he thought to himself. He had yet to understand the meaning of the word.
Faced with fragments of their souls incarnated as young Nan Feng and Fu Yao, Feng Xin and Mu Qing are forced to tend to the children's emotional wounds, and by extension, to their own.

"The idea of supernatural powers," he mused, twirling the light gold liquid in his glass. "It's not as far-fetched as you'd think. I'm a skeptic by nature, but there are some things that cannot be explained, or corroborated by the scientific method."
Liu Xiao peered over the rim of his glasses, a visible glint in his amethyst eyes. "Such as?"
"I don't know," Xia Fei admitted. "Some things. It's… It's hard to explain."
Xia Fei receives an unexpected (and unwanted) guest for his birthday dinner.
