Summary
“How’s the sky today?” Dazai asks, his thumb rubbing across Chuuya’s cheek in repetitive circles.
“Dark,” Chuuya croaks, the word rough, his throat dry and hoarse.
“How dark?” Dazai asks, brushing tangled curls from Chuuya’s forehead and tucking them behind his ear. Chuuya’s eyes shift toward the ceiling again, unfocused, as if the stupid flickering light he keeps meaning to replace is enough to keep him anchored, to keep him from sinking further. It's easier than meeting Dazai’s gaze at the very least. He doesn't want to see what's there, doesn't want to acknowledge the way Dazai’s worry is showing itself again. His skin crawls, prickling with discomfort.
Dazai doesn’t let him look away for long. His grip on Chuuya’s face tightens, just a little and it still remains so, so ridiculously, patronizingly gentle, just enough to pull his attention back, to make him refocus on Dazai.
“How dark, Chuuya?”

Summary
”Don’t bleed on the carpet,” Dazai says, as if it’s even his carpet he’d be bleeding on.
”I’ll make you bleed,” he says, although it comes out half-hearted as well as weird and distorted with the tissue blocking his nose. Dazai just smiles at him beatifically.
”Promise?”

Summary
Will raises his eyebrows. “Is that why you came in here?” he repeats, looking back down at the blue flannel. “To ask me about the weather in Lenora?”
“Kind of,” Mike says, and then, “well no, not about the weather specifically. I just– I wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh.” And Will looks a lot more surprised at this, actually, than the idea that Mike might have just wanted to come to his room to make small talk about unseasonably frigid California winters. “Okay. What about?”
“Anything.” The response is embarrassingly immediate. “Everything. I don’t know. I missed you.”
Hawkins, 1986. The world is ending, there are too many people in Mike's house, and to top it all off, he and Will have some things to talk through.
