Summary
The agreed upon meeting location was in the far western reaches of the province, where the problems were most dire, which meant it was necessary to travel through what Maia knew very well were some of the most unpleasant parts of the empire.
It was Telimezh who finally proposed a solution.
"Serenity," he said, "our family resides in the township of Calestho. Our home is humble, but it is comfortable, and we are certain our parents would be pleased to host you for a night."
While passing through Thu-Evresar on official business, Maia stays a night with Telimezh's family, and learns more than he ever expected to about his people.

Summary
It all started when the emperor and his sister went to view the eclipse. They had had to remove their mittens to make their way up the ladder, and Cala noticed how His Serenity grimaced against the icy-cold of the metal. There ought to be, he thought to himself, a better way, something that could ensure both comfort and safety.

The airship registration offices were in a very inconvenient part of the court indeed, Maraiis thought to himself. It was a very long and tiring route, up and down far more flights of stairs than he had even known existed.
Maraiis Drazhar deals with the horrors of bureaucracy, and a very rude clerk.

Summary
Csevro reached for the stones of the windowsill, her fingers grasping desperately at the crumbling marble. One last pull, just complete this climb, and she would finally reach the top of the tower, find the source of the strange and beautiful singing that had brought her to this moonlit clearing.
"I am nearly there," she cried, above the harsh whipping winds that moaned about the tower. "Thou needst not live in fear any longer! I have slain the dragon, and we shall flee to my father's lands!"
"Csevro!"
A tiny, white head peered over the windowsill at her, and an equally tiny dark hand tapped her on the nose.

Sero Telimezho was used to her son bringing home strays. Coris had always had a kind heart, and he could not bear to leave an injured creature where it lay. She had seen many an injured bird or lost cat nursed back to health under his attention.
When he was fifteen, however, he brought home a different kind of stray.
Coris Telimezh finds a feverish, injured boy lost on the outskirts of the Edonara, and does the only thing he can do: he takes him home, and nurses him back to health.

Summary
In anticipation of the upcoming coronation of the Emperor Edrehasivar VIII, we have compiled encyclopedic articles about the reigns of each of his seven predecessors of that name, all the way from Edrehasivar I (r. 34 – 45 AC) to Edrehasivar VII (r. 1038 – 1079 AC).

Summary
He lacked the typical unearthly paleness of the old vampiric houses, but his gray face was tinged with blue, and his eyes the distinctive blood red, all signs indicating that he had indeed inherited that part of his father's bloodline—even without the evidence of the small but wickedly sharp fangs that occasionally appeared around the edges of his sparing expressions.
He had not, as far as Cala could tell, made use of any of the unique abilities associated with that bloodline, even when he might be served by the judicial use of the technique of command for which the Drazhada were so known. That did not necessarily mean, of course, that he did not possess them.
Since the beginning of known history, all the Drazhada have been vampires. Edrehasivar VII is no exception.

My great grandmother passed away a week ago, and my brother and I have been helping our grandpa sort through her old stuff. We found this box in her attic of things from her brother, who grandpa says had some kind of administrative job at Edrehasivar VII's court. My brother thinks he was in the chancellery.
Anyhow, I'm sending this in with reproductions of some things that caught my eye. Hope people enjoy some of these historical goodies. Some of this stuff is upwards of 70 years old!

Summary
Arlu's situation was what her father would have called delicate. She had willingly taken the oaths of a novice, binding herself to the Athmaz'are until she either completed her education or was dismissed. She was not yet of age, but at fourteen she was old enough to speak for herself, and her father had given his blessing very enthusiastically—her sister had said he was 'living vicariously'. Arlu belonged to the Athmaz'are until such time as her novitiate was completed; even if, like all novices, she was still technically a member of her father's house, it was not meant to matter.
But her father's house was Drazhada, and if there was one thing Arlu had known since she was a little girl, it was that that made all the difference.
Arlu Drazhin joins the Athmaz'are. It is a dream come true, and a greater challenge than she could have ever expected.

Summary
To our beloved grandson, Maia Drazhar:
We look forward to finally meeting you in person! We do not travel as a rule, but—if we are to be bluntly honest—the prospect of introducing our daughter's son to his kin is what convinced us to finally make the trip. We are sure Varecoriver will be right pompous about this, but it is well worth it. You have done a remarkable job of playing politics for him, eh? But you must understand we shall not go easy on him just because he is your brother!
Our congratulations also to your nephew Idra on his coming of age! We hear the empress is with child, so his sisters need not be so lonesome in the nursery for very long.
By the time you read this, we shall be near to the court, so do not bother sending a response by letter.Maru Sevraseched
A year and a half ago, Maia was brought to court by his brother, the newly ascended Emperor Varecoriver. Now he is faced with a new challenge that threatens to upend everything he knows once again.

Ciris had decided long ago that Nelar's personal choices, no matter how ill-advised they seemed, were outside of his notice, and so he had not been paying any mind to the Lord Chancellor's actions until his attention was suddenly and unpleasantly caught by a sharp snap, followed by a crashing clattering noise that made half of the attendees turn as one towards its source.
Setheris Nelar ruins Winternight. Ciris attempts to right a wrong.

Summary
Telimezh woke in the dim twilight of a December afternoon, chilled from more than just the weather. He washed quickly, forced a mouthful of freezing water down his painfully dry throat, and stepped into the nohecharei's common area, avoiding eye contact with his new partner.
The memory of last night was still sharp in his mind—his mind that was, briefly, wholly his own again, the magical bond that had allowed Dazhis Athmaza to hear his thoughts (and, for those last miserable hours, he to hear Dazhis's in return) severed like a rotted limb cut off to save its owner's life.
In the oaths of the nohecharei to their partners is an ancient mazeise art that binds their thoughts together. With one such bond already broken, what does it mean for Telimezh to swear anew?

Summary
To our noble father, Ezechet Bazhevel, Count Bazhevel, greetings.
Winter in Bakhoree is very cold, much colder even than the court. The staff are competent, but they are few, and it is impossible for them to keep the wide halls of the manor heated properly. We have been obliged to wear thick furs to keep warm.
Confinement has not suited the princess. There is very little to occupy our time other than to spend it together. We fear that we shall grow to hate each other ere our relegation end, if indeed it ever should.
Alone at Bakhoree, Stano writes to her father.

Summary
It began, as many things did, at one of Ciris’s parties. The famous tenor Eris Vindar, who had recently come back after a leave of absence from the Zhaö Opera due to contracting a cough and losing his voice, was discussing the travels he had done during his time away.
“We have always wanted to see the Amal’opera,” he was saying, “and so we took a week in Amalo, and made certain to attend every opera house in the city at least once."
Ciris had been engaged in conversation with Osmin Duchenin, but turned his head at once to heed Vindar’s words.
“Well, with respect to present company,” Vindar continued, with a cheeky nod at Osmer Vendecar, a well-known patron of the Amal’opera, “we did not find the Amal’opera the most standout—of course, the singers were magnificently talented, and everything as beautiful as it is famed—but it is another establishment, and quite a different sort of show, which caught our attention…”Ciris Drazhar, now Emperor Varecoriver, is invited by a friend from the opera world to attend the Vermilion Opera’s controversial smash hit, Zhelsu. Neither the show nor anything else about his visit to Amalo is at all like he expected.

Summary
The Wisdom of Choharo has crashed. There were no survivors.
Somehow, the first thought that entered Ciris’s mind was to despair the loss of his exquisitely colorful wardrobe for the dull solemnity of mourning black—and after that, he realized with horror, the cold austerity of imperial white.
It was a stupid thought; there was much more he had lost than the right to dress flamboyantly, but it was one thing he felt he could truly grasp amongst the mess of incomprehensible implications.
Ciris Drazhar does not attend Prince Orchenis's wedding with his father and brothers. This is a very good thing for him, and a very bad thing for the rest of the court.

The rough timeline I use for my Drazhada-related fics. I have added an extra 10 years to Arbelan's relegation because it does not make sense to me for Nemolis and Nemriän to be that young; otherwise this should be entirely canon-compliant.

Summary
The following is as close to the full story as I can recover of the Tumblr blog starsabovethemarshes, or, as most people will know it, "that one time someone on Tumblr tried to impersonate Edrehasivar VII".
There isn't much information about the blog still available on the internet, but by compiling screenshots, doing some of my own internet sleuthing, and reaching out to people who were following the blog when it was active, I've been able to construct a general story of what went down.
