“I… I…” Buck isn’t sure what to say. This changes everything—the entire day rewrites itself, and he sees every single fucking interaction: Eddie fawning over Chimney in the gym. The counter. The calls.

Summary
They shower at the same time, like they always used to when they were kids. Melissa would herd them towards the tub after a day of frolicking outside so they didn’t track dirt through the house. Those were the good days—moments of respite between the intermittent dreariness of Stiles’ mom’s hospitalisation and Scott’s parents’ divorce—and often devolved into bubble-fights drenching an impressive area of the bathroom for two seven-year-old boys.
It’s different now, but still familiar. For one thing, they’re almost ten years older. It’s gasoline instead of mud being washed off their skin, but it's still them. Still Scott and Stiles.

Sascha betrachtete ihn einen Moment lang nachdenklich, dann nickte er langsam, lehnte sich in seinem Sitz zurück und ließ von Björns Schulter ab. Er fühlte sich plötzlich sehr kalt, jetzt da er sich wieder auf seine eigene Körperwärme verlassen musste. Sascha war einen Moment still und sah Björn nicht an, als er wieder weitersprach.
„Ich weiß, dass du denkst, ich hab einmal zu oft eins aufs Maul bekommen, aber ich bin nicht dumm, Anwalt. Ich will nur wissen… kommt Dragan irgendwann wieder?“
Anstatt Doro zu schicken, holt Björn selbst seine Sachen aus seinem Auto. Es folgen ein bisschen Panik und ein Anruf bei Sascha.

Esther hat sich die Zigarette zwischen die Lippen gesteckt und Adam realisiert, dass sie näher kommt. Was soll’s. Der Tag kann eh nicht noch seltsamer werden, oder? Dann kann er sich auch zu Esther hinunterbeugen, damit sie ihre Zigarette an seiner anzünden kann.
Für den Bruchteil einer Sekunde schauen sie sich in die Augen. Adam liest darin das Gleiche, was er auch auf seinem Gesicht vorgefunden hätte, wenn er sich getraut hätte, sich selbst im Spiegel anzusehen. Sie hat Angst.
Dafür nimmt sie den ersten Zug der Zigarette ziemlich gekonnt. „Du rauchst?“ fragt Adam.
„Nein.“

"Was zur Hölle willst du, Adam?"
Adam kam in sicherer Entfernung zum Stehen und begegnete Leos wütenden Augen, die im gedämpften Licht der Straßenlaterne dunkel waren. "Ich möchte mich entschuldigen", sagte er.
"Entschuldigen? Entschuldigen?! Deshalb folgst du mir wie ein Spürhund?" Leo breitete die Arme aus in einer wütenden Parodie einer angebotenen Umarmung. "Ja, du hast es verkackt! Wir haben es beide verkackt! Kann ich jetzt bitte in Frieden nachhause gehen?"
Nachdem sie Lausch gestoppt haben, versucht Adam, den Bruch zwischen ihm und Leo zu reparieren. Egal, wie lang es dauert und wie sehr er Leo dafür auf die Nerven gehen muss.
