Summary
The first person Jihoon kills is the music teacher who tells him that he’ll never make it as a clarinetist because he’s too small. Then it’s another Pledis trainee who gets in his way. After he becomes Woozi, he mostly kills random hookups when he’s on tour, all of them carefully staged to cover his tracks. Jihoon becomes good at it: singing, and killing, and not being caught.
So murdering three strangers while on a forced hiatus home in Busan is not part of the plan.
And neither is Soonyoung, the man-eating merfolk who insists that because Jihoon dumped bodies into Soonyoung’s ocean, Jihoon and Soonyoung are now married in the eyes of the sea.

Summary
The little girl stares suspiciously at Wen Kexing. Her arms tighten around the boy cradled in her lap. He's asleep or unconscious, murmuring unintelligible words through fever-dry lips. They can't be older than six or seven.
"Why'd you come back, old man?" The girl puffs herself up like a tiny mother hen. "I told you we don't have any money. If you try to hurt him, I'll bite your fingers off!"

Summary
“You turned me,” Hansol says. That’s what’s happened. He’s sure. He lifts his thumb to his mouth anyway, pressing the pad into his canine. It doesn’t quite break the skin, but it’s sharp enough that it could. “Did I die?”
“Not quite,” Jeonghan plucks the pen out from behind his ear, holding it between his teeth to uncap it. He picks up his notebook and scribbles something down. “It was close. Not as close as Channie, but close enough that we were worried. You’ve been out for about a month.”
“Oh, fuck,” Hansol pushes himself to sit, but gets so dizzy that he slumps back down right away. “I missed Return of the Jedi?”

Summary
"I don't have any certainty that it'll work," Zhou Zishu warned him, as if they didn't both already know. "I need you to be sure. I would—I'll have to break you down, until you can't see or hear or speak, and it may all be for nothing. I'll have put you through agony for nothing. Lao-Wen, I need you to be sure."
"I am," Wen Kexing said, before pulling him into a kiss that drew a desperate sound from Zhou Zishu's mouth.
What was life if not a collection of disparate days, sorted each into the bitter and the sweet? To have tasted honeyed time just once was already more than he deserved. To surrender himself here, in the end, wholly and willingly at Zhou Zishu's mercy—whatever else, it will have been worth it.
He traced the curve of that beloved, stubborn jaw. "I trust you, A-Xu. Take me apart."
