It was late summer and Taehyung was 15 years old the first time he heard the drum. He didn’t even realize he’d been moving forward until his older brother gripped his bicep.
“You don’t hear it?” Taehyung whispered.
“Huh? Hear what?”
“The drum?”
“I don’t hear anything. Whatever it is, Tae, it’s wicked.”
The forest was known to be terrifying. Completely wild. Home to all sorts of dark and twisted animals and magic. Weird creatures passed through the woods near their home all the time.
He would be safe and live long if he stayed away.
