Summary
In the wake of the Noroshi fiasco, the town of Makochi (and the students of Furin) have their work cut out for them. For Sakura Haruka, this work now includes an awfully timed visit from people he'd rather forget entirely. While he's learned quite a bit of how to rely on his friends at Furin, this seems too testy of a situation to involve them with. Besides, he's dealt with this particular brand of nuisance since his was old enough to walk to school by himself. What's one more trial on top of it all?

I was trying to find out what happened to have the Port Mafia this fuckin' up and arms about some orphan kid from bum-fuck nowhere. And then Dazai was damn-near dragging him down the hall.
"Hey you stupid sunofva-!"
"Let's go check on it together~!" Dazai exclaimed, his tone shifted once more to that Dazai that Chuuya despised. Happy, humming and uncaring, as if nothing could touch him. Chuuya rallied against him, but with Dazai's hand on his arm it was useless.
So Chuuya gritted his teeth and sneered. When he saw Atsushi next, it would be a damned thing to take the kid and run. No more Port Mafia, no more Dazai, no more hidden secrets in the dark…what a dream.

His clothes are way too big. He’s been kidnapped by a monk, but somehow the fact that he’s tripping over his tunic and boots is the more troubling part. The monk, who introduced himself as Aang, seems harmless for the most part. The monk is carrying a set of swords, but he’s carrying them wrong. Zuko has only been studying under Master Piandao for a year now, and he hasn’t been allowed to touch a sword in that time, but he knows that much at least. They’ve been walking for hours. The area isn’t remotely familiar to him, which is the only reason he hasn’t taken off yet. That and the monk is strangely quick on his feet. At least he’s a chatterbox. When Zuko does decide to make his escape, he’ll probably be able to hear the boy coming a mile off. He’s only six, but Mother and Father had told him this day might come, and what exactly to do when he was kidnapped.

This body is better. It hurts when he steps on something sharp and it burns when he stands too long under the big bright ball of light in the sky but it is soft and it fits and when he presses one of his hands against his chest he can feel something pulse inside of him. He spent a lot of time listening to that rhythm the first time he became aware of himself, on top of that mountain. Just his hand pressed against his chest, feeling that something inside of him go bumpbumpbump against his palm.
Faster and faster and faster until something brushed his ear and whispered “Enough”. Until a delicate hand tangled with his hair and lips brushed his forehead and a deep sadness and an even deeper loneliness filled him.
“Go.”

Summary
Makochi has a problem.
Specifically, it has a runaway problem- in the form of a scrappy child who refuses to let anyone get close to him. No one knows where Sakura came from, or how he got here- he's wary of people and never sticks around for long. Bofurin has its hands full just trying to wrangle the eleven year old. But with time and effort, maybe they can slowly coax their latest stray into trusting them...
(or: 11 year old runaway Sakura Haruka finds his way to Makochi, and slowly learns to trust people again.)
