It's an AU based on the Sandra Bullock/Ryan Reynolds movie, 'The Proposal'! So. There's that.
If you haven't seen it then the premise is: bossy lady is a bit foreign, didn't sort out her visa, is now being booted by INS. Unless she can come up with a way to get issued a new and different type of visa, like say a fiancée or spouse type one.
Now just who could save Peggy's bacon in such a situation? Step forward one Ms Angie Martinelli. Only trouble is that INS want immediate proof of their serious relationship, and Angie is heading off to a huge family event. Ever the pal, she insists that Peggy can tag along. Family drama, wedding nonsense, and ridiculous shenanigans ensue.

Clark smirks. “It’s a shirt. Coming from the big wide world of not-Smallville and everything, I’d assume you'd already know."
“It’s flannel,” Lois complains. “I’m going to look like a hick.”
“I like flannel,” Clark objects. She does. “Besides, it’s dry. And I really am sorry,” she admits. “I didn’t mean to knock you over.”
Lois sighs. “I suppose I don’t really have any other choice,” she says, pulling it on over her stained tee. “But this is it. The first, last and only time I’ll ever ask you to borrow a shirt, Smallville.”
Or, does exactly what it says on the tin. Also, Clark's a lesbian.

Summary
When they get sent on a joint assignment to investigate a string of strange incidents involving Superwoman in the middle of Smallville's annual spring flower festival, neither Clarke Kent nor Lois Lane is particularly thrilled. After transitioning in her early twenties, Clarke built a life for herself beyond the confines of her hometown and has avoided returning except to help her parents around the farm. Lois finds herself reeling from an internet hate campaign and a brutal breakup, and wants nothing less than to babysit her mediocre junior colleague from the Planet who seems hellbent on sabotaging their investigation. Anyone who wants to join the betting pool on how long they'll last before one of them catches an early flight back to Metropolis, Chief's assignment be damned, should go talk to Jimmy by the water cooler on his next break.
