Summary
Two centuries before they were born, Leviathan had vanquished the evil God Ultima and gave her life in the process. For now however, Dion Lesage was thirteen, probably in love with his best friend, and for now, all was perfect in life. For now, because Joshua was the heir to Rosaria and the Phoenix. The world rarely knew wars anymore, but some things remained - the Phoenix had to be born to the Rosfield line, and the future Archduke needed to provide heirs for his nation. Joshua had been betrothed since the age of two to his cousin Amelia - his mother’s brother’s daughter. But he would only need to marry her once he turned eighteen. Until then, they had a haven in the Crystalline Dominion, at the academy where only Dominants and Bearers were allowed to attend, their home away from home since the age of twelve.

Dion Aubert has followed in his mother’s footsteps and has become the youngest Chrystalline-starred Chef in Valisthea. His famous restaurant, the Wyverntail, is a symbol of Oriflamme, the financial and artistic capital of Sanbreque. In recent years however, a mysterious food critic going by the moniker of Foodie’s Flair (FF_16_^_~`) has taken social media by storm, changing the culinary scene and now determines which foods the trendy and impressionable of Oriflamme will eat. The Foodie’s tastes are unpredictable, and they treat corner stalls and three-starred restaurants with equal weight. What Dion cannot stomach however, is the Foodie’s unfair food criticisms destroying the lives of fellow chefs. Unfortunately for Dion, he has to pay attention and cater to this mysterious food critic’s tastes, for now, but only until he unmasks the Foodie and frees Valisthea from their temperamental taste buds...oh and save a beautiful man with a few secrets along the way.

Written to fill the PhoenixFlareWeekly prompt "Domestic."
Joshua Rosfield, postgraduate researcher at Rosaria University, must travel to Oriflamme to apply for a visa to the secretive Waloeder Federation to conduct his fieldwork on ancient Valisthean religion. Unfortunately, the Waloeder Embassy in Rosaria is temporarily closed for…unclear reasons. No matter, their next closest location is in Sanbreque, where Joshua’s old friend Dion Lesage has offered to host him for the three days (or more) necessary for his paperwork to be processed. Joshua is at once elated and nervous, he and Dion have not seen each other for 20 years…
