Summary
Welcome to a brand new story! My muse is insisting on an action-heavy case file this time around. Since I normally live comfortably in the world of fluff and slow burn, I'm definitely feeling a little insecure about the shift! But this concept has been living in my head for a while now, inspired by my obsession with Milagro, and I just couldn't ignore it anymore. So, here goes nothing!
I tend to agonize and nitpick over every single word before I hit publish, but my goal is to get you a new chapter every few days. I really hope you like it!

Looking at any part of their life together as pieces of evidence made his hands clench painfully and his mouth dry out.
He wanted to be able to detach, to observe and compile clues, but then the sight of her keys, her cardigan, or her half-finished cup of tea would gut him and threaten to bring him to his knees.
The apartment was foggy with memories, too dark for him to see a thing. The scene was covered in her.

Summary
In this alternate take on "Never Again," Scully's encounter with Ed Jerse ends with her being stalked by a supernatural entity hellbent on killing her. When Mulder arrives, jealous and confused, they must navigate their tension while trying to solve Scully's terrible predicament. Apparently, the only way to stop the curse is to pass it to someone else by sleeping with them, and much to Mulder's chagrin, that isn't something Scully wants to do.

‘Well, I must say, Agent Scully, I’m impressed! Good girl.’ The officer winked at her before sauntering off to refill his coffee mug.
Scully stood perfectly still, tensing her fingers, trying to keep her expression as neutral as possible. Men like that were desperate to get a rise out of a young woman and loved to see them squirm. The worst thing she could do right now was react and show him that he had an effect on her.
