Summary
Will is drifting off to sleep already, no doubt exhausted from his day. Hannibal listens to their breaths and their heartbeats, steady and solid and moving in sync. There are black clouds creeping over the horizon, threatening to swallow up what little Hannibal has left.
He ignores the anxiety still swirling in his mind, foggy ideas of Will dying out there, alone, in the cold. He doesn’t think about the future, or what happens when they run out of supplies, or which one of them will die first when the time comes.
Instead, he presses a little closer, holds Will a little tighter, and hopes that, come morning, he’ll feel a little better.
They only have each other now.
