Summary
He was exceedingly polite. An exemplary guard. He followed her everywhere, as close and as silent as a shadow. Despite his slight stature, the Sword that Seals the Darkness—a breathtakingly storied weapon—glinted perfectly over his shoulder at all times, like it belonged nowhere else. He lived up to the promise of every legend ever recorded in Hyrule’s history.
“What’s there to think?” she said finally. “He’s perfect.”
And she couldn’t stand him.
Pre-BOTW oneshots involving Zelda and Link reckoning with their destinies, together. Includes: one in which Zelda asks Link to teach her his way of signing; one where they get stuck in a cave; and one where there's a big dance at the castle.

CW: scenes may be distressing for those who have experienced verbal and emotional abuse.
“It might be good for you,” Impa murmurs gently. The stream bubbles softly against the rocks beneath the wooden deck. “His spirit lingers in the places he loved most. Link saw him in the Temple of Time. You might feel him there too.”
“I don’t know if it would help.”
“He loved you very much. You were everything to him.”
She shakes her head, distant earthen windchimes drowned out by echoes of the past: a broad fist slamming against a table, dreaded footsteps down the hallway, a bone-shaking bellow of anger that quickens her heartbeat even a hundred years later.
“If he loved me, he wouldn’t have hurt me.”A character study exploring Zelda's complex relationship with her father, and how a toxic parent can leave lasting scars.

Summary
“You can’t just risk your own health for me,” she couldn’t help her own health at times, when her research consumed her over to research into the night. But if she could do one person's duty as a princess to help Hyrule, even helping one of her own personal friends, well, she would have succeeded.
That’s my job, though.
“Your job isn’t to force yourself to take care of me.”
That’s my duty. He repeated. But caught in the light, in the amber glow painting his rosy cheeks, it looked forced. Forced onto his young stature and slumped shoulders. It is my duty.
(or, Zelda tries to convince Link that he doesn't need to be a self-sacrifice)

Summary
Just leave it alone. He ordered, or thought he ordered. Was that a thing, a knight ordering his princess? A knight wasn’t supposed to do that, a knight was supposed to protect his princess. It’s going to be healed up - just leave it alone.
Link flinched under Zelda’s gaze when the realization of what he had just done settled within him. She didn’t look angry though, It didn’t look angry, it looked….he couldn’t read her gaze. He was supposed to be the best at that, being able to read his opponents and emotions. But hers, he couldn’t quite read.
“Shouldn’t that be my line, Link?”
His instinctive reaction was to bow, his shaking becoming thundering. This was the one thing he was not supposed to do. If he was a true knight, a bit stronger one, this wouldn’t have happened.
(Or, Link secretly gets injured - and Zelda finds out.)
